I picked up A Gathering of Lace by Meg Swansen, on hold for me at the Mountain View library. It looks like a fantastic book; I’m eager to duly peruse it. At a glance, I did see that there are circular patterns. One in particular, a feather and fan sweater, has reserved its place in my knitting destiny. I’m excited to think I can knit it and learn from knitting it. Yes, I did one sweater according to the EPS and with good results. Still, I am not ready to follow my own pattern just yet. I just sense that knitting this feather and fan sweater will prove pivotal somehow. I am grateful for such patterns!

Oh, the sock. I am poking holes with these sharp needles. I’ve bandaged one finger.
They are not called needles for nothing. I have to be extra careful when I have lap
company. Are sock knitters possessed with a wakeless mania? Perhaps at a larger
gauge, perhaps with the 2-circular method…then would I take to this dreadful,
agonizing pastime more favorably?
I decreased too soon and ripped back. Now I’m decreasing again. Size 1 needles are
vastly smaller than size 2! K2tog proves difficult for me at this tautness and with these
(Crystal Palace) needles.
I so want these to be nice! Sigh. Is there a ’sure thing’ project to give to a male? Knitting Nature offers an interesting scarf pattern, modelled by a man. I don’t know that the yarn used is my cup of tea, but it is knit circularly and the stitches are offset each round. It would be wonderful to see the entire offering of certain yarns in person. Malabrigo comes to mind.
