March 2007

I hope Chelsea will forgive me for leaving her at the Vet’s. I know she was miserable there. I know I was miserable because of that.

I was shocked by the price! $49.00 for her three-night stay. I mean, that is plenty but I had just presumed it would be in the $200 range. They had given me a break. She had given them a break too. She didn’t accept any of their food. Thank goodness for the baby food I brought when I visited her.

So she is home again, still in a cage, again in my room.

The night was tough. I couldn’t soak her paw; she’s no longer compliant. I tried again come morning. Nope. Plus even with her Elizabethan collar she could manage to stretch and do the no-no of licking her paw. She doesn’t approve of a newspaper litter box. She was agitated much of the night. Then there was a big commotion. Her collar was off! Oh well, I’ll just leave it off.

I spoke with the Vet and I feel better. (I had been losing my wherewithal, becoming disheartened; I didn’t know how much more she or I could take). At least I saw her sleeping a little today. And it’s not like she’s trying to get out of the cage so that’s good.
