The vet asked if I wanted to hear something eerie. Why did I think of Halloween? I could drive and function as if I was fully alert but part of me was still sleeping. I probably tilted my head like a dog. To the vet, that meant I wanted to hear something eerie. I didn’t say, “is this place haunted and are you talking in my sleep?”

Last year, on the very same day, I had brought Phoebe in to the vet for treatment of an injury. Oh! If that’s eerie, I’m okay with that.

I left Phoebe at the vet’s. Now she’s home again. She had a large abscess. Whether it originated from a wound inside or outside her mouth was undetermined. It wasn’t the result of dental problems. Still, she did need three teeth extracted. And she had a cyst removed. It was so big as to require staples which can be taken out in two weeks. At that time, she can have her vaccinations too. Sigh. Poor little Phoebe. I’m so glad they were able to make room for her this morning.
